According to foreign media Electrek, Tesla solar has substantially increased the price of solar roofs in the United States, and some angry customers have cancelled orders.

According to reports, a solar roof customer stated that he signed a contract with Tesla solar in February. The contract included a solar roof cost of 35,000 U.S. dollars and a battery cost of 30,000 U.S. dollars. However, he received a special contract shortly afterwards. Sla’s email stated that: We have made structural adjustments to the solar roof and increased its complexity, so the cost of the solar roof has risen to 75,000 US dollars. You will receive an email in the next 1-2 days, and your new contract is ready for your review and acceptance. If you are no longer interested in the solar roof, you can cancel the order by logging in to your Tesla account, and your payment will be refunded automatically.

It is reported that Tesla solar installed 205 megawatts of solar energy in 2020, an increase of 18% over 2019. Tesla solar currently provides two solar roof solutions, one is to install solar panels on the customer’s roof, and the other is to renovate the customer’s roof and embed solar panels in the roof.

According to reports, Tesla solar did not respond to the increase in solar roof prices.
